Sapura Energy bags operations and maintenance contract off Malaysia

Malaysian offshore services player Sapura Energy has won a contract for maintenance, construction, and modification services for offshore facilities in Peninsular Malaysia.

The contract, worth RM 40m ($9m), was awarded to its operations and maintenance arm, Sapura Fabrication. The client was left undisclosed.

The contract has already started and will last six months, with an option for a six-month extension.

The scope of work includes topside maintenance, facilities improvement, hook-up, and commissioning for both brownfield and greenfield facilities, riser maintenance, pig trap system maintenance and living quarters upkeep.

It will also cover project management, engineering, construction management for both onshore and offshore activities, as well as the provision of tools and services.

In February, Sapura Energy revealed a batch of contracts worth $723m. It was also able to secure a $250m bailout from the government to repay debts to vendors in March.
