Adani group to invest Rs 60,000 crore in AP green energy plants

Adani group has decided to set up 10000 mw solar power project along with setting up another 3700 mw pumped hydro solar project. The Adani group would invest close to Rs.60000 crore in two projects. The new investment is expected to generate about 10000 new jobs in the state.

AMRAVATI: AP government clinched a big-deal on Monday whenAdanigroup agreed to invest Rs 60000 crore in green energy plants in the state.

The state government clinched the big-deal with Adani group during the chief minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy‘s meeting with Adani group chairman Goutham Adani in Davos. Interestingly, Goutham Adani who held initial discussions with the chief minister on Sunday, met the chief minister again on Monday to formalize the agreement.

The Adani group signed an Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the state government in the presence of chief minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy and Adani group chairman Goutham Adani. Special chief secretary (industries)Karikal Valavenfrom AP government and Ashish Raj Vamsee fromAdani green energy groupsigned on the MoU.

This is considered to be a big move towards making AP as hub of green energy. “Chief minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy has succeeded in prevailing upon Goutham Adani to invest in AP. Chief minister’s approach and presentation has made Adani group to take the final call on such a big project within 24 hours,” said industries minister Gudivada Amarnath. He said that the investment proposal from Adani group is going to be a game-changing movement for the state to attract more big-ticket projects in the coming days.

Recently, chief minister laid foundation stone for worlds largest integrated renewable energy storage power plant (IRESPP) which was designed to generate about 5230 mw of power from hydel, wind and solar sources in Kurnool district.
