Foresea seals $70m boost under Petrobras drillship deal

Foresea

Brazilian drilling contractor Foresea is adding $70m to its backlog under an existing drillship deal with Petrobras.

The company established in June 2023 from the restructuring of Ocyan’s drilling unit fixed its floater Norbe VIII in September of the same year to the state-controlled oil giant for three years.

The deal worth approximately $450m has now been further boosted to include new technologies and operations in shallow waters. The 2011-built unit is set to receive equipment and system upgrades by December 2025 aimed at bolstering its flexibility to operate in different water depths.

Foresea has a fleet of four drillships and one semisubmersible all on contract with Petrobras with a backlog standing at $1.7bn.
