We plan to reach over 1 GW electrolyser production capacity in near term: Martin Thanem Holtet, CFO, HydrogenPro

New Delhi:HydrogenPro, a Norway-basedelectrolysermanufacturer, plans to reach over one gigawatt (GW) production capacity per annum globally in the near-term,Martin Thanem Holtet, chief financial officer, HydrogenPro tellsETEnergyWorld in an exclusive interview.

The firm came into the spotlight in India last month following its memorandum of understanding with India’s Larsen & Toubro (L&T) to set-up a joint venture in the country manufacturing gigawatt-scale alkaline water electrolysers.

“We will establish fabrication facilities together with large industrial players in Europe, US and APA… Our ambition is to become the top large-scale provider of green hydrogen plants globally,” said Holtet.

The company, founded in 2013, develops and manufactures large-scale electrolyser systems for industrial customers.

On the L&T MoU, Holtet said, “Together we are building up a complete facility for turnkey hydrogen production plants deliveries to the local market. We are now in a preparation phase and we will communicate to the market when the terms and plans are defined.”

It is working on different technologies such as high pressure alkaline technology, standardised technology for electrolyser production trains.
