Adani, Greenko partner to utilise 6 GW of pumped hydro storage capacity

Under the partnership, up to 1 GW power will be supplied to Adani Group’s proposed industrial complex

New Delhi: TheAdani GroupandGreenkoGroup, on Monday said they have partnered to utilise standalone long duration hydro energy storage capacity to provide round-the-clock (RTC) energy to Adani Group’s facilities in India.

Under the partnership, the firm and dispatchable RE solution including RTC power supply of up to 1 GW will be supplied to Adani Group’s proposed industrial complex, making it one of its kind green industrial complex in the world.

According to the official press release, Greenko has offered 6 GWh of long duration hydro storage capacity from its proprietary ‘off-stream closed-loop pumped storage project’ under development at Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan.

Greenko has an installed capacity base of 7.3 GW across solar, wind and hydro generation technologies spread over 100 projects and delivering over 20 billion units ofrenewableenergy annually.

Ahmedabad-based Adani Group has a market cap of over $100 billion comprising seven publicly traded companies.
