Dodge announced it will cease producing V8 powered muscle cars soon.

The auto manufacturer has announced that it will cease production of its current Challenger and Charger muscle cars by December 2023, replacing them with a new Electric Vehicle model.

There will be six new versions of the pair of vehicles introduced in the coming weeks, with a seventh to debut at the upcoming SEMA auto show in Las Vegas in November.

There have not been any details on any of the new versions released, however Dodge CEO Tim Kuniskis has said the seventh with be history-making, indicating it may surpass the 808hp Dodge Challenger SRT Demon, with an even more powerful internal combustion engine, making it the most powerful combustion engine muscle car ever made.

It was first introduced with the 807 hp supercharged V8 powered Challenger and Charger Hellcat Redeye models, and will now include the 717hp Hellcat engine.

They are also bringing back new older paint colors, to include, B5 Blue, Plum Crazy purple and Sublime green, as well as the more modern Destroyer Grey.
