MNRE grants extension of scheduled commissioning date for solar projects under CPSU scheme

New Delhi: The Ministry of New andRenewableEnergy on Tuesday granted time extension to solar power projects under tranche-I, tranche-II, and tranche-III of theCPSUscheme phase-II scheme implemented byIREDAtill 30 September 2024.

The ministry in two separate documents said that it received representations for extending the timelines for projects in three tranches of CPSU phase-II primarily on account of supply chain disruption in the solar sector.

It added the issue was examined and it was decided that IREDA may extend the scheduled commissioning date till 30 September 2024 of such solar projects under tranche-I, tranche-II, and tranche-III of the CPSU scheme phase-II, whose scheduled commissioning date is before 30 September 2024, and who wish to avail such time extension.

The Central Public Sector Undertaking (CPSU) Scheme phase-II aims to set up 12,000 MW grid-connected solar photovoltaic projects by the government producers with Viability Gap Funding support for self-use or use by government entities, either directly or throughdiscoms.
