“The return of volatility over the past week has been driven by market positioning rather than worries over growth,” Mark Haefele, chief investment officer at UBS Global Wealth Management, said in a note. Popular online brokerage Robinhood said Monday it raised another $2.4 billion from investors as the manic retail trading forced its clearinghouse to increase deposit requirements by tenfold last week. Futures contracts for silver surged as much as 11%, the biggest one-day jump in 11 years.

Crude oil prices jump as investors view broad market stimulus as helpful to oil demand.  Crude oil prices currently trading around $53.56. Natural gas prices spike over 10% as weather models turn colder. Over the weekend weather models increased demand expectations by showing upcoming cold temperatures traveling further east, Wood Mackenzie analyst Dan Spangler said in a note to clients early Monday.
