Mumbai gets its first fully solar-powered EV charging station

The company said in a statement it has installed 16 ATUM modules of 325 WP capacity each, generating 24 Kwh per day and 8,760 Kwh per year.

New Delhi: Telangana-basedVisaka Industriesannounced it has set up Mumbai’s first fully solar-poweredEV charging stationin Malad under its brand of stations calledATUMCharge. The charging station has a capacity of 5.2 Kilowatt solar roof which generates electricity.

The company said in a statement it has installed 16 ATUM modules of 325 WP capacity each, generating 24 Kwh per day and 8,760 Kwh per year, adding that ATUM Charge set up in Malad caters to the youth as it also serves as a convenient new-age co-working space.

“We are pleased to announce that, with the assistance of our specialists and R&D team, we have added a new chapter to our quest for sustainability in Mumbai, ushering in a new era of green revolution,” said Vamsi Gaddam, Joint Managing Director, Visaka Industries.

The company claims ATUM Charge solution enables the entire electric vehicle charging proposition to transition to 100 per cent solar, whereas conventionalEV chargingstations generate electricity using thermal power.
