Turkish Parliament to consider bill on sale of LNG as part of gas hub creation

Turkish Parliament

Deputies of the Turkish Parliament, after a month and a half break caused by local elections, will resume legislative activity on April 16. One of the important documents that they will consider is a bill allowing the sale of natural gas imported by the republic in liquefied form, a source in parliamentary circles told TASS, Report informs.

“The approval of the bill will be one of the important steps to create a legislative framework to transform Türkiye into an international gas trading center,” the source noted.

The bill was sent to parliament for consideration in January. Its adoption will also allow the creation of enterprises for liquefying natural gas imported by Türkiye.

Earlier, Minister of Energy and Natural Resources Alparslan Bayraktar said that Türkiye expects to put into operation a gas trading platform in Istanbul as soon as possible.
